WORSHIP RETREAT at Big Sandy Camp
BUILDING THE BASE
We’re excited for the opportunity that this new year brings us to dive deeper into all that the Lord has in his heart for a May gathering at Big Sandy in 2023! A big part of that is building the base of people who are involved in stewarding and facilitating that vision and we’d love to take this opportunity to invite you to join us in some of those next steps!
BSC23 PRAYER GATHERINGS
We'll start off Week 6 spending time in thanksgiving over God as the God who sees then follow that up with time recapping what we've discussed and learned through the past 6 weeks of gathering together in this format.
As in past weeks, prayer time at the beginning of the evening will involve referencing scripture. A smart phone will more than suffice but if you like the tangible pages, bring a Bible with you! We will have chips, salsa and La Croix available--come fed or fill up on chips, salsa and La Croix. Whichever works best for you!
NOTE: Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect in Minneapolis so parking is limited to the "odd" (opposite from Will and Anna’s house) side of the street. There are usually spots open in the evening but if it becomes an issue, don't hesitate to let us know and we'll work on some solutions!
Time: Feb 4, 2023 06:30 - 08:30 PM Central Time
Location: 3846 21st Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55407
WEEK 6 // RECAP
-
WEEK 1 // ALIGNMENT
In Week 1 we focused on alignment with the Lord’s heart rather than answers about Big Sandy, believing that an important first step was a prayer-centric gathering of people who are highlighted for involvement in BSC23 and default toward unity with one-another and alignment with the Lord’s heart.
WEEK 2 // VISION
In Week 2 we began with the same structure, starting off with a time of prayer focused on God as the author and finisher then spent the remainder of our time delving more into the vision that we believe the Lord has already laid on our hearts for the May gathering at Big Sandy Camp!
WEEK 3 // WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS?
In Week 3 the training wheels came off and we jumped right into the deep end—talking about childcare at Big Sandy 2023! We walked away from the that conversation SO excited for all that the Lord has already put in motion for childcare at Big Sandy 2023! More information and ways that you can plug in there coming soon!
WEEK 4 // HOSPITALITY
In Week 4 we spent time in thanksgiving over God as the limitless God, then jumped into a time of sharing about what we're calling "Hospitality Teams" at Big Sandy 2023. More information and ways to join a team coming soon!
WEEK 5 // STEWARDSHIP
In Week 5 we began by focusing on God as the all-knowing God then spent the rest of the evening talking about what it means to act as stewards of all that the Lord is doing and has done at Big Sandy Camp!
Weekly prayer gatherings not going to work for your schedule but you’d like to be involved? Text or email updates are the best way to stay in the loop right now—we’ll update you as more opportunities become available!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
We’re really excited for all that is on the Lord’s heart for Big Sandy and believe digging deeper into that is more than a few people can steward. Our first step in broadening the base of people involved is this prayer-centric weekly gathering. Our goal is to meld different perspectives and experiences with unity and alignment in the body of Christ as we move further into preparation for the May event!
-
We’re so glad that you’re considering coming and hope that childcare or the lack thereof won’t be a hindrance to whether or not you can join us! Our hope is that this will be an intentional, directed and focused time geared toward adults and also acknowledge that children are a big part of many of our lives right now.
While we expect some combination of infants or young children at these gatherings each week, our goal is that they not be a major distraction and that the adults present can be engaged in what we’re doing and where we’re going together! We hope that you will join us in that goal but leave the final decision on how to make it happen in the hands of the parents.
-
Quick Answer: No!
Long Answer: Our intention is that these gatherings are frequent enough that any to-do list remains achievable each week and missing a week here and there will not be disruptive to engagement or unity of the group. Attendance will not be mandatory but we do expect that a certain level of consistency will be necessary for those interested in engaging on a deeper level.
